Moving Checklist
We understand that moving can be stressful and that things often don't go as planned. That being said, having the following things taken care of prior to our arrival will make your move go more smoothly and help your moving team to work as efficiently and quickly as possible.
For All Moving Services
- All furniture items have been cleared off and emptied
- All appliances being moved have been uninstalled
- All boxes and bins are taped shut or able to be closed
- Unless we are hired for packing services, all boxes have been packed and taped prior to our arrival
- Animals and small children have been secured
- No animal excrement is present in areas where movers will need to work
- No unexpected sharp objects in any furniture are present
- All items are in ready-to-move condition
- Items not being moved are clearly marked and/or in separate areas of the home; not mixed in with items we are moving
- If items are being moved into a storage unit, you have purchased moving blankets for storage of furniture
- All items we cannot legally move (valuables, cash, liquids, explosive items, chemicals etc.) have been put aside
- Indoor/outdoor stairways and pathways are clear of debris and clutter
- All items over 300 lbs have been discussed with movers before day of move
- Items to be assembled/disassembled have been discussed with movers before day of move
- Any loose item that is able to be boxed is in a box or container (ie loose hand tools, electronics, etc.)
- If you intend to tip, cash has been secured to do so
For Labor-Only Services
- Truck/POD/UPak/Storage unit rental has been arranged prior to our arrival
- Moving blankets have been rented or purchased (one dozen per 5 ft of truck is recommended)
